Happiness is

...own bananas. We have these red, bukid bananas, also tundan and bolognan.

...parsley, ruccola grows grazy. Also calamansi, tampis, papaya. Mango must wait 5 more years. Only problem is koriander, I really like but cannot make the quantities I want.

Singkamas

First time ever I taste singkamas as it's name is here. Singkamas is the root of Mexican turnip or Jicama. Funny taste. Like Swedish 'kålrot' or swede 😀. Sweet and juicy, chunky. Keep in fridge, peel and eat. Kids like it too.

Panagsama news

They took away the roundel-triangle in Panagsama where the trikes parking. For what? To give space for two (2) more trikes to park there. Oh well.' Should have been K-markt?

P-sama really busy now. Asian guests most. Ofcourse it is high season but also these old folks (like me?), pensionist on the run, and want house and lot. Good so many local ladies willing to help in this intrigue business.

Rabies

Rabies is common in PI, Stray dogs everywhere, many aggressive but seldom dare to attack into skin. There are strict rules a pet owner must follow. Penalties are quite heavy to pinoy pocket. The problem is that this law, like the most, is not implemented. If bitten by a pet, the pet owner must take the victim to doc and pay for expenses.

Positive is that today the anti-rabies shots are free. Before You have to pay up to 5000p. Anti-rabies clinic gives the victim a shot on each side arm. Repeated three times.

Largest animal on planet

A blue whale, largest animal on planet, spotted out of Dumaguete, Negros. Not so far away from here. Thanon Straits is migration route also for big whales. I have seen only dophins.

Pic above shows a rain front in Badian. It never made to Moalboal. However, now we have a rainy season over us after a heavy dry season, hot and not a drop of rain in 3 months. That was El Nino. Now we have La Nina. Mosquitos and flies also back. Welcome.

A few drops of rain

Early morning we got rain, very little rain, first time in many weeks.

They say the prevailing El Nino will pass mid-year and move over to La Nina. Which is better; drought or rain storms? Oh well.

Pics below show that gadgets for kids are even stronger than hunger of sugar. Max falls asleep while playing with Jr. And Jr fall asleep with tablet over his face.

Skål kosmonauter

55 years since first man in space - Yuri Gagarin 1961. Skål kosmonauter.

Soviet started the space era with Sputnik 1957. Yes I saw it in night time because big news then and times announced when passing. A big shock in the west.

Soviet also first with Laika 1957, Valentina 1963, Salyut 1971.
